Check the units before the delivery

Keep dimensions, coverage and price bases aligned through a takeoff.

Follow one dimension from drawing to order

Write the unit beside each measurement before multiplying. A slab drawn in metres may have thickness marked in millimetres. A supplier might quote concrete by cubic metre or cubic yard. Convert the physical quantity first, then match the unit price to that same quantity. Do not apply an area conversion to a volume; cubic factors are different.

Nominal names are not measurements

A product name can describe a nominal size rather than the actual finished dimensions. A 4 by 8 foot board is not exactly 1.2 by 2.4 metres. Brick counts also depend on the joint, not just the face of the brick. Use the editable size presets only as examples, and replace them with the product data on the supplier quote.

Check coverage and packaging separately

Paint coverage can be quoted per litre or per gallon. US and imperial gallons have different volumes. Flooring is often ordered in packs, so an area calculation must round to whole packs and show the resulting purchase area. A waste percentage does not replace packaging checks, delivery minimums or a cutting layout. Compare a base scenario with a second allowance supported by your job records.

The European English edition starts with Ireland and euro formatting. It is not a single EU tax model: confirm the country, work category, VAT treatment and local product dimensions.
